In 1994 he became one of the founding members of the critically acclaimed, Roadrunner-signed punk act Amen, leaving to join Bluebird in 2001. His time spent touring the world in both bands gives him a natural empathy with the musicians he now works with in the studio.
Having always been fascinated by the recording process, Fig joined Sound City in Los Angeles as a runner in 2001, gaining praise for his unshakeable work ethic, obsessive attention to detail and essential communication skills with both the artists and producers.
As assistant engineer, he learned every aspect of the trade, working with such luminaries as Joe Barresi, Matt Hyde, Don Smith, Matt Wallace, David Bianco, George Drakoulias and Greg Fidelman. In that time he worked on albums by acts including Ry Cooder, Robert Cray and the legendary Johnny Cash.
Now a respected recording engineer in his own right, Fig has put his stamp on records by Deftones, Alice In Chains, Coheed and Cambria, Trivium and Evanescence's Billboard chart-topping self-titled third album, released in 2011.
Despite working all hours in the studio, Fig also finds time to compose and record music for television and film, including the New Pollution Title theme for Fuel TV, Friskies: The Cat Diaries and Bluebird's Stylemasters.
